In Vietnam, the festival is geared towards children and is also referred to as the Children's Festival. Troupes of young acrobats perform traditional lion dances and children everywhere make star-shaped lanterns. Vietnamese families also mark the occasion by eating moon cakes, though these are typically square rather than round. Across Vietnam, children's lantern parades take place and lion and dragon dances are staged.
