MASON "GIVING TOGETHER" campaign includes vegetable garden and necessities donation at Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse CenterOn 19 March, 2024 between 12:00 and 15:30 hrs., MASON acted in accordance with its intent towards social responsibility and community development by carrying out a conservational tourism activity as part of the GIVING TOGETHER campaign, which has been active since 2023. Continuing to be a “Giver and Sharer,” MASON management and staff representatives conducted a charity activity, donating necessities and vegetable gardening know-how along with a variety of seeds. Members of the MASON gardening team gave guidance on sustainable vegetable gardening to children at the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center in Bang Lamung District of Chonburi. The event reflected the hotel’s support for sustainable human rights and for the betterment of children and the misfortunate.Led by Ms. Pornpun Ratanapitakkul, General Manager of MASON, management and staff presented necessities to the center as well as aided in converting a formerly flooded plot for use as a small vegetable garden, teaching members of the center how to plant seeds, water the garden, fertilize and harvest crops. Members of the MASON gardening team provided know-how collected from the MASON Secret Garden project, inspiring everyone present to grow their own gardens. Staff and children at the center were encouraged to tend a garden that would supply them with fresh vegetables daily in the future. The undertaking not only converted a once flooded piece of land for use, it strengthened and bettered the community towards sustainability. From an effort initiated within MASON to its surrounds, the activity invited everyone to support sustainable development and sustainable tourism. The Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Center, or Baan Kruja, was established in 1995 in response to the dedication of Kru Ja Piewsrisuk, who founded the center to aid child victims of sexual abuse and human trafficking. The facility has played a key role since its start in making a safer society for children, providing legal and educational support as well as guidance and lessons on safety against child sexual abuse. Studies and skill development have also been supported by the center as a form of aid for youths, with children learning how to read, write and improve their cognitive skills for a better, more sustainable future in Thailand. MASON is delighted to have been able to support the activity at the center, understanding the importance of social aid and helping children in need. The hotel is continually seeking out local foundations in need of assistance to uplift the entirety of Na Jomtien and Pattaya, making it a “good” and “green” area. Being a socially responsible organization, MASON goes beyond presenting excellent experiences to its guests to making their stays meaningful. The happiness of MASON guests is shared to area communities and farmers with the intent of creating sustainable benefit for everyone, adding a value that transcends the monetary.
