THE WESTIN GRANDE SUKHUMVIT, BANGKOK RECOGNIZED AS

Bangkok – June 30, 2011 The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok was recently awarded ‘Best Employer in Asia Pacific 2011’ by Aon Hewitt, a global human resources consulting and outsourcing firm. An independent panel of judges for Aon Hewitt’s ‘Best Employers in Asia Pacific 2011, Hotel Category’ named The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok as one of the top 25 organizations in Asia Pacific.The Aon Hewitt study was based on inputs from more than 800 organizations. The study received opinions from more than 150,000 employees representing a workforce of 2.5 million employees—making it the largest single source of employee and human capital research across the region. The study was conducted in partnership with Wall Street Journal Asia, along with media partners in the local markets.

The study concluded that there was no single formula for Best Employers 2011 but stated that the ‘best’ differentiated themselves from the ‘rest’ in their ability to answer five critical questions that employees are asking of their organizations.

• Are we all aligned on the people investments needed to achieve our goals?
• Is there a compelling reason for me to work here?
• Will I be effectively developed and fairly rewarded for extra effort?
• Do I receive timely and quality support?
• Am I trusted and encouraged to take ownership?

Charles Jack, General Manager of The Westin Grande Sukhumvit recently accepted the award on behalf of management and associates at a ceremony held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong “This is another great achievement for the hotel, following on from our recent success as the Best Employer in Thailand 2011”, said Charles Jack. “It is a significant reward and confidence booster for the entire Westin team.
